About us

We promote private education

We are the association of independent private schools operating nationwide and with an international reach, working to promote high-quality, free, innovative and constantly improving education.

What is CICAE?

A community that connects, represents and drives forward

CICAE is Spain’s leading association of independent private schools. It brings together 66 schools from across the country, all of which have a strong international presence and are recognised for the quality of their educational programmes, their academic results and their commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

Its mission is to represent, promote and defend independent private education, whilst supporting families’ freedom of choice, the diversity of educational approaches and a framework offering schools greater organisational and curricular autonomy.

CICAE serves as a forum for institutions with their own distinct identity and a shared vision of educational excellence. The association fosters debate on the major challenges facing education, promotes innovation, generates and shares knowledge, develops proposals and collaborates with public authorities, universities and other organisations to contribute to the progress of the education system.

All of this with a clear aim: to highlight the strategic role of independent private education in Spain and to promote the joint development of its member schools.
