PISA for Schools Assessment

Every two years, CICAE encourages its schools to take part in PISA for Schools, the international assessment run by the OECD that measures students’ competency levels in reading, mathematics and science, using a methodology comparable to that of the PISA study.

As well as assessing academic performance, PISA for Schools provides highly valuable information on other factors that influence educational quality, such as school climate, student wellbeing, the relationship between students and teachers, sense of belonging to the school, motivation to learn, and the wider socio-educational context.

Each school receives an individualised report with its results and how they compare with OECD countries, giving it a precise picture of its strengths and areas for improvement.

As a pioneering initiative on an international scale, CICAE was the first association of schools to ask the OECD to produce a group report for its schools. As a result, the OECD itself jointly analyses the results of the participating schools and produces a specific report that makes it possible to compare the performance of a group of schools with similar characteristics, identify common trends and draw conclusions that are particularly useful for guiding improvement processes and decision-making.

CICAE subsequently runs a communications campaign to give visibility to the results achieved by its schools and to highlight the educational quality of independent private education.
