Valencia, January 21, 2026. – Representatives of the Association of Private and Independent Schools—Circle for Educational Quality (CICAE)—held an institutional meeting today with the Regional Minister of Education, Culture, Universities, and Employment, Carmen Ortí, and the Regional Secretary of Education, Daniel McEvoy. The meeting, held at the regional ministry’s headquarters, served as an initial opportunity to establish contact and convey the sector’s main concerns and proposals for improving the quality of education in the region.
The CICAE delegation was led by its president, José Antonio Rois, and its executive director, Elena Cid, accompanied by Luis Madrid, principal of Agora Lledó International School and a member of the board of directors.
Constructive Dialogue and Shared Challenges
The Minister of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment, Carmen Ortí , together with Mr. José Antonio Rois, president of CICAE, and Mr. Luis Madrid, member of the board of directors of CICAE and Ms. Elena Cid, executive director of CICAE.
During the meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, CICAE representatives conveyed to the Regional Minister the association’s desire to serve as a strategic partner in improving the education system. The CICAE school model—characterized by academic excellence, pedagogical innovation, and internationally recognized results—was highlighted.
In addition, key issues related to the development of schools’ educational programs have been addressed, such as the need to streamline administrative authorization processes, flexibility in managing teaching talent, and measures that promote families’ freedom of choice.
The Regional Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to quality education and has expressed interest in gaining a firsthand understanding of the sector’s concerns. We at CICAE appreciate the Regional Ministry team’s willingness to engage in dialogue, and we are confident that this meeting will mark the beginning of a fruitful collaboration to continue advancing education in the Valencian Community.
