The CICAE-UCJC Debate League Judges’ School is an accredited training programme run by CICAE and the Universidad Camilo José Cela to train and accredit new academic debate judges. The initiative was set up with the aim of continuing to strengthen the CICAE-UCJC Debate League and building an official pool of judges equipped to assess competitions using technical and pedagogical criteria.
Aimed at students, former debaters and teaching staff from CICAE schools, the School combines hands-on training, case analysis and participation in official tournaments, giving participants the tools to assess argumentation, public speaking, rebuttal and teamwork. Attendees also receive an official CICAE-UCJC accreditation and become part of the League’s community of judges.
The training is delivered by specialists and international debate champions linked to the consultancy Train&Talk, including Antonio Fabregat and Javier de la Puerta, co-directors of the CICAE-UCJC Debate League and leading figures in the fields of public speaking and critical thinking.
