ODILO: With an eye on PISA 2025

Reflecting on the past Book Day and celebrating the excellent results obtained by the CICAE centers in the PISA 2022 report, from ODILO we would like to share some reflections on reading literacy based on the latest results of the report PISA 2022 and with a focus on PISA 2025.

At ODILO, we are very aware of the importance of developing reading skills as a basis for any learning process and we have been helping educational institutions around the world for many years to enhancing reading skills by creating open-ended learning ecosystems and supporting the creation of interactive reading plans with the support of the Generative AI. Specifically, at the national level, we have been working for years on literacy for the public education of children and adolescents. Castilla y León (number 1 in reading comprehension in Spain and above OECD average) y Community of Madrid (number 3 in Spain in reading comprehension and above the OECD average).

In global terms, in the LATAM region, the top two countries in reading comprehension are Chile and Uruguay, two other countries that have ODILO platforms for literacy development at the Ministry of Education level.

How do we help improve PISA results in ODILO for PISA 2025?

  • Content aligned with the PISA framework: Supply of materials and resources covering the specific subjects and skills assessed by PISA, such as science, mathematics, languages or reading proficiency in the case at hand.

  • Personalized learning experiences: ODILO’s unlimited learning ecosystems offer personalized learning experiences such as the enriched reading plans that already exist in the PISA/PIRLS comprehension questions.

  • Access to resources: The OECD highlights that students with fewer than 11 books at home are almost three grades behind compared to those with access to more than 500 books. ODILO offers access to unlimited content, increasing the opportunity to improve reading levels, offering equality and accessibility to different learners.

  • Involve families: PISA has shown that family involvement is key to academic success. ODILO integrates families into their ecosystems through the family module. Involving families in the learning process encourages families to take an active interest in their children’s education. When parents are involved, students tend to have a positive attitude toward learning that positively impacts PISA results.
