Artificial Intelligences, a great opportunity for Inclusion

Digital skills have emerged as a key development that every person must face in order to be integrated in today’s society. It is well known the worrying fact that part of the population, for adverse economic and social reasons, does not have access to the current growing and unstoppable wave of technology.

Generative applications are the “Big Opportunity” to meet some of the inclusion challenges that exist in our society.

However, in addition to groups that are vulnerable for economic and social reasons, there are two large groups of students who are also lagging behind in these technological competencies that are so important for their future.

  • Girls.
  • Students with a non-technological profile.

STEAM education has flourished with a very male profile.

At Lifecole, after more than 10 years of experience in education and digital skills, we can affirm that the female public continues to observe the passions of the most technologists out of the corner of its eye.

And the fact is, kids love video games. They are natural fans of them. And it is precisely their passion for video games where the leap has taken place. You might even call it the magic: From playing, to creating.

Connecting the passion of a Minecrafter to develop and program worlds in Minecraft, has emerged as something natural, just like in the Roblox universe. A trend that, since the choice of the kids, is surpassing the great success that has been Scratch.

How to channel the tastes of girls and adolescents?

At Lifecole, with more than 1300 boys and girls, we have found that girls also enjoy and learn immensely when they immerse themselves in environments with a more masculine tradition, whether it is programming or video game development.

But for them it’s not just a matter of taste, but of finding their place. A place where they can feel accepted, and even supported.

On the other hand, there are also other STEAM subjects such as the world of creativity, design, multimedia creation, social networks, and now especially Artificial Intelligence, for which they feel special interest.

Still, the lack of momentum inherent in a video game hobby doesn’t seem to drive them to immerse themselves in the world of unfathomable digital technologies. Their interest still seems like a kind of decaffeinated coffee compared to the interest of their male counterparts, except for the incessant use of social networks in their free time.

We need to guide them a little more. Inject more spark and passion into their learning. We need them to overcome apathy in their digital transversal competence evolution. Let them get on board the boat of fun and constant learning.

If the boys have been lucky with the help of video games, how do we activate luck for them? How do we make them see the exciting world they are missing out on?

What about non-technological profiles?

On the other hand, we all know… Everyone is a different world!

And even more so, if a young person shows a sincere interest in a non-technological subject, such as a sport, a language, or a social activity. Cases in which the first impulse is to continue encouraging them in that area of their lives, so important and increasingly scarce, which is to stay connected with the real world, with their immediate environment, and with themselves.

And what need do they have for these new technologies, what could they bring to their personal development and growth?

We cannot ignore reality. We can confirm, without much fear of being wrong, that we are multidimensional beings, that our digital identity and our activity around it is, and will be more and more, a fundamental part of our lives.

So, how to guide and help a young “a-techie” in digital skills?

Motivating them, precisely, in everything they are passionate about.

For example, for a young athlete, new technologies can undoubtedly lead him or her to be part of multiple initiatives, specialized sports communities, and interactions with his or her professional world.

They can also help give you visibility, professional opportunities, and even defend your rights, when necessary, within your own field, which in this case would be the world of sports.

You can even create your own community, professional brand, website or digital channel to carve a niche for yourself in this vast and dynamic digital universe.

How to guide him, therefore, on the path of this digital wealth, which can be so empowering, and offer him the autonomy and freedom he will one day claim for his life?

AIs as a new opportunity

Before the 2 previous scenarios comes a space for rapprochement.

What young a-technologist would study “computer science” per-se? For them, the word computer science remained on the shelves of the old and forgotten.

And what about the newer “digital literacy”? Very educational term, but not at all appealing to our stakeholders.

And here comes the cherry on top… The innovative, cool, and attractive! The new Artificial Intelligences. That concept that is being born with strength, without a distorting past. With the freshness that a new beginning requires.

And so much importance to talk about how to use 4 applications that allow us to generate text, or multimedia content?

Learning and evolving, together, thanks to AIs

If for some people AIs are mere utilities, from Lifecole we affirm that it is the perfect time to take advantage of this popular theme to add…

… to add all those students who need to learn how to take advantage of the digital world, get up to date in digital literacy, activate their creative and entrepreneurial skills from the design and implementation of their ideas, and that through the IAs they can do it in a fun and even immersive way.

… to add all the girls, adolescents and young women who have not yet dared to take the plunge. To put them at the forefront of tools that provide the strategic digital foundations for their future, to further develop their logical thinking, but also the ability to create, shape and project their dreams, goals and entertainment.

And it is not a mere question of learning certain curricular contents, or developing certain digital skills…

It’s a chance to get out there, with joy, and a desire to enjoy it socially!

That is why, at Lifecole, we dream of creating bridges, from their desires to the maximum that they are able to choose, evolve and experience for themselves.

For this reason, we have designed a wide range of complementary educational offerings that enrich students by taking into account their concerns.

And that is why we offer schools the opportunity to access our entire offer with an excellent educational quality, unbeatable prices for your families, and an almost unheard of flexibility, where it is not necessary for you to consolidate entire groups in a specific subject.

Each student finds at Lifecole like-minded peers with the same passions, wherever they are from, and they will evolve as much as they wish.

Each student, with a unique, individualized opportunity to promote the main axis of our educational model, which is precisely their vocational development.

Shall we talk about these advantages, and look at it together?

We are, and I am, at your entire disposal.

Best regards,
