1,200 students united by the values of sport at the 8th CICAE Sports Games

On May 8, excitement and joy invaded the sports facilities of the José Caballero sports center in Alcobendas with the celebration of the VIII CICAE Sports Games. This initiative, organized by the Association of Private and Independent Schools (CICAE) in collaboration with the UCJC Sport Club and the Center for Professional Studies CVE, brought together 1,200 boys and girls in 5th and 6th grades of primary school from 21 private schools in the Community of Madrid.

The different teams participated in five sports modalities: catch the flag, athletics, dodgeball, kickball and colpbol. The physical education coordinators of the schools designed the regulations and rules of play and organization of these non-competitive sports, seeking to promote fair play, companionship, effort, teamwork and tolerance.

But beyond the competition, what really stood out was the atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support among the students. In every gesture of encouragement and in every applause, the true spirit of the CICAE Sports Games was reflected: to promote the values of respect, solidarity and fellowship through sport.

The practice of sport helps the physical, mental and social development of people, which is why it is crucial in the integral formation of pupils. In this sense, the activity is designed to commemorate sports values and healthy lifestyle habits from childhood, where fun is always present to encourage their passion for sports.

The closing ceremony was attended by Jesús Tortosa, Sports Councilman of the City Council of Alcobendas, Gabriel Castellano, President of CICAE and three ambassadors of Alcobendas Olympians: Jesús Tortosa Cabrera (Taekwondo), Jaime Nava (Rugby) and Javier Beirán Amigo (Basketball). An example for the youngest who see in the effort and constant work, the results of these three great champions.

At the end of the day, with smiles on their faces and hearts full of gratitude, the success of this eighth edition of the CICAE Sports Games was evident. A great celebration of sport where the important thing was the shared experience, the new friends and the spirit of companionship and respect that each child took with him or her.
