Executives of private schools from all over Spain meet at Los Sauces European Private Schools to learn about their model of educational excellence: “Proud of our past, excited about our future”.

During two days, on November 21 and 22, the managers had the opportunity to learn about the keys to excellence of such a prestigious institution.

From November 20 to 22, 2024, the Association of Private and Independent Schools (CICAE) and Los Sauces European Private Schools held the 19th Benchmarking and Education Meeting at the Los Sauces headquarters in Torrelodones and La Moraleja.

This event brought together 80 managers from 40 leading private schools in Spain, including those recognized by Forbes as the best in the country. During two days, participants explored in depth the Los Sauces educational model, based on excellence, diversity and the promotion of human and academic values.

A comprehensive educational model and a focus on best practices

Los Sauces European Private Schools, with almost half a century of experience, acted as host of this meeting, offering attendees a privileged view of its pedagogical and management methodology. “This Benchmarking is for us a celebration of teaching, where we were able to share impressions about our work and create synergies that nurture good practices in our schools,” said José Antonio Rois, CEO of Los Sauces.

This event brought together experts and managers from prestigious educational institutions, generating a valuable network of collaboration and exchange of ideas, knowledge and strategies. Attendees were able to reflect on how to apply these lessons in their own schools, inspired by the Los Sauces educational model.

Monographic Seminar on People and Human Resources Management

On November 20, as the opening of the program, a monographic conference focused on people and human resources managementThe event was a space for debate and reflection on best practices in team management in the educational field, with a panel of experts in the sector: Nerea Casteig Blanco (Employee Experience Manager, Dovalue Spain), Silvia Peris (People Director of the Mas Camarena School group), César López Ruiz (People & Culture Director of Globeducate), Claudia Ortiz Roca of Head of HR, Spain & Italy of Cognita Schools and Soledad Rodríguez de Lavalle (Director of culture and talent development of the Educational Institution SEK International Schools).

The opening ceremony began with an emotional tribute to Mr. José Luis Marín, founder of Mas Camarena schools, who recently passed away after the devastating passage of the DANA in the Valencian Community. His daughter, Maite Marín, director of Mas Camarena schools, received a commemorative plaque from the president of CICAE, Gabriel Castellano.

Day 1: Educational immersion at Los Sauces Torrelodones

On Thursday, November 21, managers and teachers had the opportunity to learn more about the Los Sauces Torrelodones project.

“We want to show you how we develop our student profile, and therefore, from our International Department to our own projects carried out in Early Childhood Education and through our residence, art, sports and social and environmental awareness will be present in this journey with which we hope to make you enjoy and where we can share pleasant moments full of complicity to grow together in this wonderful world of education”, explains José Antonio Rois, on the “journey” to the educational projects of Institución Los Sauces that those attending the day could discover.

In addition, the school designed an interesting agenda to make an immersion in the center discovering its projects, from the different educational stages: Global Programs, Buddies Without Borders Club, Pontevedra Residence, Environmental Awareness, Artistic Project, Educational Concert…

Day 2: Educational immersion at Los Sauces La Moraleja

On Friday, November 22, the meeting changed its venue and it was the Los Sauces center in Los Sauces center in La Moraleja who presented the main pillars of its educational project.

During the day, the importance of integrating sport into the school curriculum was highlighted. An interesting debate was opened with a panel of professionals moderated by the sports journalist of Mediaset, Ricardo Reyes, which was attended by Germán Arteta (Dir. Celta de Vigo Foundation), Álvaro Herranz (Dir. General Collegiate Basketball Foundation) Jaime Nava (Former captain of the Spanish rugby team) and Antonio Gómez Negrete (Physical Education Teacher Los Sauces Torrelodones).

Those attending this second day also discovered other hallmarks of the Los Sauces Institution such as Family reconciliation, Los Sauces Foundation, Debate and public speaking, Personalized attention, Explore and Learn (Early Childhood Education), The Lab experiences…

Finally, the Institution’s guidance department had a prominent place on the day’s agenda in order to highlight the challenges in a changing world that guidance professionals in educational centers are currently facing, offering an exhaustive study of the current situation and strategies for the future.
