The meeting allowed to explore possible initiatives to promote a more equitable and higher quality education system, capable of guaranteeing equal opportunities and respecting the freedom of education in Andalusia.
The meeting included an agenda of strategic issues for the sector, reflecting CICAE’s commitment to educational excellence. The main points discussed were:
Autonomy of private education: Ramón Resa, principal of Yago School, a member of the Board of Directors, highlighted the need for greater autonomy for private schools in Andalusia. This independence would facilitate an innovative approach to curriculum and teacher recruitment, positioning private education as a pillar of quality.
Tax relief for families: José Antonio Rois, CEO of the Los Sauces Educational Institution, with schools in Galicia, Madrid and Dublin, proposed a tax reform that includes deductions for educational expenses for families who opt for private education, as a measure to directly support freedom of educational choice.
Financing of subsidized education: Elena Cid, General Director of CICAE, raised the need to evaluate the financing of the subsidized system. CICAE advocates for transparency and control in the collection of fees to avoid unfair competition with private education, promoting a fair and balanced system.
Concert in Bachillerato: Elena Cid also addressed the issue of the concert in Bachillerato, emphasizing that it is a specialized stage and that direct aid to families would be a better alternative for students to access the training that best suits their vocations.
Finally, Gabriel Castellano, president of CICAE, expressed his sincere gratitude for the Councilor’s willingness and commitment to collaborate in the search for an educational model that responds to current needs. He highlighted the need for the three educational networks and the importance of private education that favors an educational system in search of excellence, promotes freedom of choice for families and places Andalusia at the forefront of educational quality.
