On May 20, 2026, CICAE\u2014the Association of Private and Independent Schools\u2014was received by Rom\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, the regional minister of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training for the Xunta de Galicia, and by Judith Fern\u00e1ndez Novoa<\/strong>, to discuss various issues of educational interest.<\/span><\/p>\n

A key topic was discussed during the meeting:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • The standardization of admission requirements to Galician universities so that students enrolled in the IB Diploma Program<\/strong> can achieve 14 points<\/strong>, on an equal footing with students from other autonomous communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Representing the Association were Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rois, president of CICAE<\/strong> and general director of the Sauces Educational Institution<\/strong>; Jacobo Olmedo, principal of SEK Atl\u00e1ntico School<\/strong>; and Jorge Mui\u00f1os, principal of Obradoiro School<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Here at CICAE, we view the meeting we held with the Regional Ministry very positively; they demonstrated a receptive<\/strong> and collaborative<\/strong> attitude<\/strong> toward the issues raised. <\/span><\/p>\n

    During the meeting, it became clear how important it is to avoid situations that could lead to unequal opportunities<\/strong> for students and make<\/strong> Galician universities less attractive<\/strong>, and there was a shared understanding of the need to move toward solutions<\/strong> that promote greater educational equity and competitiveness in Galicia.<\/span><\/p>\n

    We continue to work to promote improvements and opportunities for schools and their students, fostering education on an equal footing for all<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
