{"id":19400,"date":"2024-12-04T15:17:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T15:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cicae.com\/actividades-cicae\/ib-learning-communities-1st-online-session\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T15:30:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T15:30:10","slug":"ib-learning-communities-1st-online-session","status":"publish","type":"actividades-cicae","link":"https:\/\/www.cicae.com\/en\/actividades-cicae\/ib-learning-communities-1st-online-session\/","title":{"rendered":"IB Learning Communities &#8211; 1st Online Session"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>November 19, 2024,<\/strong> the 1st Online Session of the IB Learning Communities for <strong>International Baccalaureate Coordinators and Teachers <\/strong>took place.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>In three parallel sessions (PYP, MYP and Diploma Programme) we explored:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Assessment in the PYP &#8211; Session led by Sergio S\u00e1nchez (Alameda International School)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 The fundamental principles of assessment in the PYP: What do we really want to assess in our students?<br\/>\u2022 Different assessment tools and strategies: How can we get a complete picture of our students&#8217; learning?<br\/>\u2022 The role of formative assessment: How can we use assessment to improve teaching and learning?<br\/>\u2022 How to communicate assessment results to families: How can we involve families in the assessment process?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Approaches to Learning in the MYP &#8211; Session led by Paloma \u00c1lvarez (Colegio Virgen de Europa)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 How can I foster critical thinking in my students? How to create an environment where reflection and constructive criticism are valued, using open questions, debates, case studies, and activities that invite students to question what they have learned. <br\/>\u2022 What challenges does a teacher face depending on the subject they teach?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Laboratories (training, lab practicals, real equipment needs for the DP) &#8211; Session led by Germ\u00e1n Tenorio (Yago School)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lab practicals play a fundamental role in students&#8217; education, as they allow for deep immersion in scientific concepts through hands-on inquiry.
