The CICAE – UCJCPublic Speaking Tournament<\/a> <\/strong>promotes public speaking and the ability to speak in public in the youngest schoolchildren. A <\/em>This is an eminently educational project<\/strong>, both for teachers and participating students, with an ambitious program of face-to-face and online training sessions.<\/p>\n\n

Aimed at students in 5th and 6th grade of primary school and 1st and 2nd year of ESO, organized in two categories, they can compete either in English or Spanish. <\/p>\n\n

The stages of the tournament<\/h4>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

In the first phase of the tournament, each school makes a preliminary selection and proposes a maximum of 30 students per category (15 per team, with each school presenting a maximum of 2 teams per category). <\/p>\n\n

Students submit a video to the academic committee, with a speech on an age-appropriate topic (previously chosen by the organization). <\/p>\n\n

The academic committee then selects the students (4 per team, if 2 teams register, there will be 8 students selected per category) who will move on to the face-to-face phase.<\/p>\n\n

A second phase featuring an in-person tournament composed of two parts<\/strong>\u2014a preliminary qualifying round and the final\u2014which will take place on April 25, 2026.<\/p>\n\n

Training, its main value<\/h4>\n\n

The primary objective of the tournament is to provide comprehensive training in public speaking and communication skills.. In addition, teachers receive training and tools to help their students <\/strong>acquire self-confidence in their presentations, nerve management skills, and communication resources to improve their interventions. This expert training provides teachers with valuable knowledge and strategies to support the development of their students. <\/p>\n\n
